My name is Alfredo Blanco, known internationally in educational and technological realms as Alfredo Lápiz. Born in Lagunillas municipality and residing for over two decades in Bachaquero, Zulia State, Venezuela, at age 21 I made the pivotal decision to move to Caracas to complete my high school studies, paving the way toward my true academic and professional calling.
I enrolled in the prestigious Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), majoring in Foreign Languages with a specialization in English. For more than 20 years I dedicated my life passionately to university and technical English teaching, instructing at renowned public and private institutions and corporations including IUDAG, INVECAPI, INCE Corporativo, INSBANCA, Metro de Caracas, and Xerox of Venezuela, among others. Furthermore, I served as a high-level bilingual interpreter for major transnational oil corporations such as Noble Corporation and Falcon Drilling.

In 2009, at 42 years of age, severe glaucoma suddenly took my sight completely. Following the loss of my teaching position and facing a profound personal transition, I decided that darkness would never dictate my destiny. As I learned traditional Braille, I quickly recognized the immense communication barrier isolating visually impaired students from their sighted teachers in modern classrooms.
This real classroom need drove me to design and build my foundational inventions: the Lápiz y Cuaderno Electrónico. Thanks to this pioneering bidirectional system—honored with two continental awards—a blind student can write in Braille while a sighted teacher reads it instantly as normal alphabet text on screen, supported by synthesized speech. Since that milestone, my journey as an inventor has never stopped: today I drive inclusive technological evolution with new innovations such as the De Lápiz Dos Boxer neurovisual stimulation app, the MG40 Calculator acoustic-tactile app, and the modern Lápiz Digital TEA for autism.
